My name is Sekata Kenea I was graduate from Hawasa University on july 8 2006 In Natural Resource Management. I have ten work experiences. Nearly for one year I work as Soil and water conservation expert at Wama Hagalo Agricultural Office from September. 2006 to April 2007. May 2007 I join Holeta ATVET College as teacher. Know I am senior Instructor at Holeta ATVET College. In 2015 JEHPEIGO Invites One Instructor from our college for TOT on Nutrition Sensitive Agriculture at Bishoftu town and Unfortunately Got the chance. After I took Six day training I back to our college and provide training to Holeta trainers and Instructors. In the same year ISD invite me on one day workshop on organic agriculture at Holeta agricultural office and also introduce MAAN platform for the participant. Immediately I register on MAAN platform. I would like to the space manager of Ethiopia MAAN platform who encourage me to participate on platform. In 2016 ISD request the members to write Micro Intervention project proposal for the surrounding community. Based on the information I prepare MI project in August 2016 and also took training on preparation of MI at Bishoftu Town. The training was very interesting and helps me to win MI proposal. Also I participated on different capacity building training which was organized by ISD and IFOAM then I prepared and won my first micro intervention project proposal on promote home garden vegetable production.
In collabration Of Holeta Clustor the micro intervention project begins by launching the project for key stakeholders and government representatives. During my base line and FGD it was shocking for me that there is no diversity food. Every respondent's answer the same way which is every female takes Bread with tea in breakfast and all take "enjera with wot " in other times meal. From food group every respondent consume all starchy stable food (wheat bread, teff enjera, potato) which is produced by household . According to WDDS only five women (20%) ate five food groups in last 24 hours. The rest 80% was not consume the minimum food groups.
Eleven women beneficiary was selected from Meda Gudina kebele and Training was provided on vegetable production, organic pesticide,fungicide and insecticide preparation, compost preparation and mushroom production. Women are happy for the training and they identify their gap of diversified food preparation. Different vegetable seed variety was also provided for women beneficiary and they start to produce in their home garden.
Women Benefiaries of Meda Gudina were prepared balanced diet for their children and supply vegetable products to market to earn income.
